Website Editor: Quick Guides

How to add or edit your pop up using inSite

By now you have probably read the other quick guides on how to add a popup and how to link a pop up from a button on your website.

You can also have a pop up show when a customer comes into a site, comes into a page, or is about the leave a site (so you set the pop up to appear based on a particular set of actions). Pretty Cool Huh!

To do this you will need to go to the inSites tab from the left hand navigation and the below steps will guide you through that process.

  1. Click on inSites from the left hand navigation
  2. From the choices available select from the pop up box select ‘edit inSite’
  3. From here you will need to choose a trigger. A trigger is simply an action caused by the visitor which will cause the pop up to display.
  4. Triggers can be location, device, time, visits, campaign url
  5. Say for example you want the pop up to show only when a customer comes to your site for the first time, select VISITS as the trigger
  6. Hit Next
  7. Then you can set the parameters of that trigger e.g. first time visit or show after x number of visits
  8. Choose the page you want the pop up to appear on e.g. home page, or contact us page etc and detail how much time you want it to appear for
  9. Hit Next
  10. You will then be able to edit your pop up using the same functionality and design components as the rest of the site.
  11. Once you have finished making your edits click DONE in the top right corner
  12. You will then be asked to name and save the pop up .
  13.  Once it is created you can preview the pop up from the left hand navigation by hitting the play button

You can check how your pop up is performing over time by clicking on the wheel/settings icon in the inSite panel of your pop up. From the drop down you can select to de-active, delete or select analytics.

Go in and have a play around with the settings and the design.
